Memorised Beethoven cycle marks the release of the second instalment. Click on the ‘News’ for more details.

This week we were delighted to bring to fruition the project that has been close to our hearts and minds for a few years. During three evening recitals we performed Beethoven’s ten piano and violin sonatas, from memory and in chronological order. We are grateful to our friends and supporters and the amazing team at Deal Music and Arts for turning this dream into reality.

It was a memorable experience to share this spiritual journey with live audiences. Beethoven’s ten violin sonatas are a fascinating cross-section of the composer’s creative evolution, from the galant style of the opus 12 to the enigmatic experiments of op 96.

It seems a fitting conclusion that today Challenge Classics have released the second volume of our sonatas cycle on disc. It is also available through all digital platforms via this link.

We are looking forward to launching this new recording with a live concert at the beautiful St Barts Great Hall in London at 19.00 on Wednesday 21 July, generously supported by the City Music Foundation.

This teaser video gives you a look behind the scenes into the wonderful Motormusic Studios in Mechelen where the cycle was recorded in July 2020.
